“As a professional, in 25 years of riding, I have lived 24 with Parlanti on my feet”.

Piergiorgio Bucci, born in L’Aquila in 1975, has taken a lot of steps. We are not referring to his resume (which boasts a World Cup, 5 European Championships, endless Nations Cups and a continental silver medal for teams on his neck) but to the story of his life, as an athlete and as a man of horses.

We like to think of those steps that go beyond the recognition of a GP, to dive into the footsteps he left on the ground while trying to pursue a dream born as a child.

“I’ve never had any doubts. Horses were my passion before I even got on the saddle. They were my root while I was constantly moving house ”.

Born in L’Aquila in 1975, he moved to Rome at the age of 20 and then lived in Milan, returned to Rome and then moved to Brescia. From there, the crossing over the border. Today he resides in Budel (Holland).

“Today I am satisfied with myself as a rider, from a technical and psychological point of view”.

If we wanted to trace his path in the form of positive and negative steps, Piergiorgio declares “85% of my sporting life is represented by disappointments, but I have always focused on 15% of successes. And with this I am not referring to the races won or the goals achieved, but to peace with myself, to the awareness of having done my best. In our sport, you know, there are many variables and must be taken into account immediately. What really matters is understanding where you go wrong to improve yourself every day. For this reason, I don’t even remember that 85% anymore “.

Is there still in Piergiorgio Bucci a remnant of the Aquila boy of 25 years ago?

“That boy who came out of nowhere had to learn the basics of horse riding (including grooming) and slept in a container together with the stable staff who are proud to be able to live with the most precious people in our equestrian world. He can only be the preponderant part of me still today “.

Today, with KK Boots…

“I don’t notice I’m wearing them and they save me from back pain. With the stability they give in the saddle it is impossible to go back. Stratospheric invention “.
